Hey folks,
I wanted to post something, but wasn't entirely sure as to what it should be. So I figured I would start a dialogue about our final project. What the final will be comprised of is still a mystery, and our level of input is yet to be determined, but I think its worth it to discuss what we want to explore/discover etc.
I had brought up the idea of obsession as a theme to play with. Its an interesting concept because obsessions are things we deal with everyday. Some people hide them, some people wear them on their sleeves, but no matter how we deal with obsessions, whatever it is we are obsessed with, we know very well. That is to say, in relation to theatre, playing with obsessions allows for great depth in the work.
Obsession is just an example, but lets dialogue about what kind of things we would like to see, whether it be a theme, a location, an object, a style.
Feel free to post links to YouTube, pieces of text, anything to get the ball rolling. Hell, lets just have some fun, see what happens.
Go.
I think obsession is a strong focus. I would love to explore the effect obsession has on the people around us. How it rips relationships apart and how we have to lose the people around us to make room for our obsession.
ReplyDeleteI also love Terri's idea of exploring the varying degrees of obsession. Obsession is so dynamic and manifests itself so differently in each person it affects.
